Regardless what you use, PLEASE find a notes app that is fun. Writing and writing often is too essential to not enjoy.
For me, that app is Obsidian. A few reasons why:
- It's lightning fast ⚡️
- It's completely free 🤌
- Backlinks connect my disparate notes and ideas 📎
- I own all my data (I use Obsidian Sync to see my notes on mobile) 🔒️
- Fully bespoke with extensions to make as maximalist as you want 🌐
Malleable to how I think
By which I mean, all I want is to take my daily notes digital. Having tried them all (Coda, Notion, OneNote), Obsidian is the only application that gets my daily notepad to look how it was on paper but with the benefits digital (tracking my to-dos over time using DataView).
